DEVELOPING A WEST END TICKETING SOLUTION FOR OUR PARTNER NIMAX THEATRES, LTD.

The Customer

Nimax Theatres was founded in 2005 by theatre producers Nica Burns and Max Weitzenhoffer. They now own and operate six West End theatres (the Palace, Lyric, Apollo, Garrick, Vaudeville, and Duchess). As well as operating theatres, Nimax is a leading producer of plays and musicals in London’s West End and beyond.

Challenge
London’s West End theatre district is over four hundred years old and has evolved a unique set of commercial practices to serve a large network of independent ticket agencies. In 2012, Nimax Theatres introduced a new initiative to the West End by granting their agency partners a limited degree of API access to their in-house ticketing system. This dramatically improved their sales and customer service levels, but created a new set of challenges for venues that wanted to further extend the capabilities of their agency partners’ distribution while improving the levels of control that they could exert via their in-house systems’ API integrations.

Solution
In 2017 Nimax had selected and deployed TixTrack’s Nliven UI to provide a mobile-first ticket buying experience and in doing so had become familiar with both TixTrack’s approach to software development and Nliven’s central spine of modern RESTful JSON APIs. So a series of discussions with TixTrack led to a detailed specification of all of Nimax’s requirements for an end-to-end ticketing system, and a project plan for TixTrack to develop to these specifications with Nimax’s active involvement.

PROVIDING THE TICKETING TECHNOLOGY FOR OUR REGIONAL PARTNER FOR COLISEO DE PUERTO RICO

The Customer

Ticketera is our partner licensing TixTrack products in Puerto Rico. Coliseo de Puerto Rico is the biggest indoor arena in Puerto Rico with a capacity of 18,500 and one of the top 20 arenas in the world according to Billboard Magazine. The Coliseo opened in 2004 and is managed by ASM.

Challenge
With high-demand reserved seating shows as well as general admission events, the Coliseo needed a modern, flexible ticketing platform that could manage the load of 40,000 visitors looking to buy tickets during an on-sale for the most popular performers that will sell out a series of shows. They wanted a system that would allow visitors to be able to select their seats from a map, deliver electronic tickets and provide business intelligence tools to help promoters maximize their revenues.

Solution

TixTrack and Ticketera worked together with ASM to understand the Coliseo’s ticketing needs. Together, they deployed their Nliven platform to provide a mobile-first ticket buying solution that delivered a simple process for the customer to complete their purchase. Nliven proved to perform when The Coliseo conducted a series of high profile on-sales for “Daddy Yankee”, selling out 10 shows in record time.

The Customer

The Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago—one of the largest science museums in the world—is home to more than 400,000 square feet of hands-on exhibits designed to spark scientific inquiry and creativity. Opened during 1933’s Century of Progress in a building from 1893’s Colombian Exposition, MSI is the place where generations have been coming to see what’s next.

Challenge
With general admission, several timed-entry add-on experiences, a large number of on-site visitors including CityPASS holders, and over 350,000 children from school groups annually, MSI is a complex ticketing operation. MSI developed extensive in-house software to handle all of the ticketing needs the primary ticketing system (Galaxy) could not manage. The resulting solution was brittle, limited and costly to manage. The Museum needed a ticketing platform that could handle current and future ticketing needs and integrate seamlessly with CRM, accounting packages, and donor management software.

Solution
MSI and TixTrack worked together to understand MSI’s complex ticketing and membership needs and tailor a solution utilizing their Ticketure platform to meet them all. Utilizing a custom web sales flow, Ticketure enables the Museum’s guests to book multiple timed-entry experiences during their visit, purchase and instantly use a membership. Onsite, the sophisticated mobile POS-based platform empowers Museum staff to scan and sell to guests and members at access control and at each exhibit entry.

Challenge
Enchant Christmas desired a ticketing solution that enabled them to handle the high-volume sales of selling over 1M tickets in 30 days, but moreover required a highly customizable online/mobile shopping with full API support to enable them to match the purchase experience to the holiday experience the customer would receive at the event. In addition to scalability and having an open API, Enchant’s ticketing solution would require flexibility in scheduling timed entry events, configuring upsells and be able to handle the various suite rentals and group sales requirements.

Solution
TixTrack partnered with Enchant Christmas to fully understand Enchant’s ticketing needs, unique challenges and implemented TixTrack’s Ticketure platform to provide an API-driven, truly mobile ticket solution.

Using Ticketure’s open API, Enchant was able to provide a fully customized shopping experience for their patrons selling just shy of 1M tickets online in a 6-week period.

Ticketure’s included Data Visualization toolset, enabled Enchant to understand what was happening at each of their locations around the country. From Marketing viewing an overlay of purchases to zip code maps to provide a clear view of where their marketing spend was being best received, to Staff Managers being able to see a color coded Heat Map of the entire event’s sessions sold capacities to better plan for staff location and pinpoint potential bottlenecks, Enchant was able to truly optimize not only their purchasers experience but also their staff experience.

The Customer

Located in downtown Los Angeles, STAPLES Center is a cultural institution as the home of the Lakers, Kings, Clippers, and Sparks franchises. The 20,000 seat capacity venue hosts over 250 events annually, with almost 4 million guests visiting. It’s the only venue that is shared by more than one NBA team.

Staples Center, Los Angeles

Challenge
STAPLES Center needed a system that would allow the box office to provide detailed, accurate sold and hold maps for shows already on sale so that promoters could make more informed pricing and marketing decisions. They also needed a price planning tool to make more informed decisions about scaling the house.

Solution
TixTrack Pro was the solution they needed, providing intuitive visual sold and hold reporting. TixTrack Pro’s scaling tools allowed STAPLES Center to provide visualizations of potential pricing scenarios to maximize gross ticket revenue.

TixTrack also worked with STAPLES Center’s ticketing provider to set up an API to allow for the data to be updated automatically multiple times per day. The TixTrack Pro deployment saved an incredible amount of time for STAPLES Center and proved to be an invaluable tool for inventory management and revenue optimization.

Nederlander owns and/or operates nine Broadway theatres, as well as dozens of markets nationally. They both present and produce live entertainment ranging from theatrical productions to concerts and special events.

Challenge
Nederlander needed a solution for how to manage group sales for their nine Broadway venues. Previously, they had been using a third party system to manage group requests that had no integration with Ticketmaster, their primary ticketing platform. They were in need of a versatile, easy to use, cloud based digital solution where they could program and manage the group sales for their venues without having to rely on a third party.

Solution
TixTrack and Nederlander worked together to develop a group sales module within the Nliven system that provides a way to manage group sales request, payments, and even to help input those sales into an external ticketing system. The group sales module needed to be something web based so as not to require special hardware or software for group agents to use. It also needed to be something easy to use for the group agents and the box offices.

Challenge
Nederlander needed a technology-based solution to managing house seats and VIP ticket requests. Prior to the Nliven house seat solution, this inventory was managed on paper ledgers with credit card information being passed on written paper or email between the management offices and box office. There needed to be a secure, PCI-compliant solution that would allow for the digital management of this inventory.

Solution
TixTrack and Nederlander worked together to develop a digital house seat module that would allow the venue and artist to manage their house seat inventory digitally, including making payments on the requests. By leveraging Nederlander’s experience and expertise in this field, TixTrack was able to develop an easy-to-use application within Nliven that has streamlined and simplified the house seat request and management process. This solution has proven to be highly favored by venue and artist management for all venues where is has been implemented.
